Windows collect app cache, and over time these cache files get too big or get corrupted. In reply to TomDanahy's post on May 27, Restart the computer and try launching Zoom now. If your web camera is not showing up or is selected but not working, try some of these basic tips first.

Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks, but as the links all show, there's no feedback from ZOOM and the only one suggestion is a virtual machine, which is just nuts. Creating a new user account on the Windows machine worked for us. When we logged in as the new user, Zoom worked fine. It would seem to me two things are happening.

The Zoom programmers have caught the error thrown by windows and wrapped it with their own message, but do not know how to resolve the issue, thus the suggestion in the message to move to a browser. Since creating a new account resolves the problem for the new account!

I have done some registry and AppData searching but have not found anything other than ZoomPhone remains in the registry after an uninstall. Can anybody move this idea further or discredit it? This began happening around mid month April, after six months of no issues and I cannot find a solution to it. Anyone else had same problem and solved it? This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.

If your video continues to be distorted, open Zoom while not in a meeting and select the Settings gear , then choose the Video tab and select Advanced to adjust these options.

Make sure the correct camera is chosen and that the box beside Turn off my video when joining meeting isn't checked. Reinstall Zoom. If you're using the mobile or desktop versions of Zoom, uninstall the program and redownload it from the Apple App Store, Google Play , or the Zoom website.

Alternatively, you can try using the web version. If you're still having trouble with your camera in Zoom, you can still participate in meetings with your microphone or by dialing-in to Zoom.

Some Lenovo PCs have a default feature that prevents Zoom from accessing the camera. To turn off your webcam video on Zoom, select Stop Video from the bottom left of the screen.
